Posted on: 23-August-2007
(June 20, 2006 – Welland, ON) – The Welland Safe Community Partnership (WSCP) will be hosting an information session for Welland’s seniors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2006, in the Civic Square Community Room, 60 East Main Street.
“Our Seniors’ Safety sub-committee has been working diligently to develop and inform Welland’s seniors of safety-related programs and services,” explains Pat Chiocchio, WSCP Chair. “This information session is one more step in bringing all of the pieces together.”
Some of the topics to be covered at the information session include: fall prevention, community support for seniors/caregivers, crime/fraud prevention and a W.R.A.P. program.
“The W.R.A.P. program is a Wanderer’s Registry of All Persons that is in place in Grimsby right now. We’ve invited the former Chair of Grimsby Community Policing to tell us more about the program and to gauge the interest of Welland’s residents about starting a similar program here.”
The WSCP is dedicated to working together to make Welland the safest place…because we live, learn, work and play here. This information session is one more step toward achieving that goal.
Light refreshments will be served at the information session.
