Posted on: 23-August-2007

(July 27, 2004 – Welland, ON) – At the request of Fire Chief, Paul Olah, Welland Fire and Emergency Services will be visiting Councillor Pat Chiocchio later this morning to see if his home measures up.

“The Welland Safe Community Partnership has been working diligently for the last few months to come up with ways to make Welland a safer city,” said Tom Nenadovich, Fire Prevention Officer. “The Fire Chief felt it was necessary to put forward a friendly challenge to the Chair of the initiative to see if his home measures up to our standards.”

“I’m confident that my home will pass their test,” said Pat Chiocchio, Chair of the Welland Safe Community Partnership. “The annual smoke detector inspection program is an asset to this city, and I look forward to this afternoon’s challenge and learning other ways to improve safety in our home.”
